Is white noise machine good for babies?
White noise machines can be helpful for babies because they mimic the constant whooshing sounds of the womb and can block household or city living noises that might wake them. Many families find they make settling and resettling easier, especially during the early months and sleep regressions. The key is using them safely: keep the volume low, it’s also advisable to place the machine away from the cot if possible, and avoid running it all day so your baby still experiences normal sounds while awake. When used sensibly as one of several sleep cues (along with a dark room and consistent routine), white noise is generally considered a useful tool rather than something harmful or addictive.
